A Dietitian is a board-certified food and nutrition expert. They are highly educated in the field of nutrition and dietetics- the science of food, nutrition, and their impact on human health.
Through extensive training, Dietitians acquire the expertise to provide evidence-based medical nutrition therapy and nutrition counseling tailored to meet an individuals's needs.
The credentials of RD (Registered Dietitian) and RDN (Registered Dietitian Nutritionist) are interchangeable. However, RDN is a more recent designation.
A Dietitian is a credentialed medical professional who can provide both medical nutrition therapy and nutrition counseling. The title is reserved for those who complete specific education and licensure requirements.
On the contrary, the term nutritionist is not a regulated term in every state.
So, essentially a Dietitian can use the term "nutritionist" or "dietitian nutritionist" whereas a Nutritionist cannot necessarily call themselves a Dietitian.
Nutrition counseling is a supportive process to set priorities, establish goals, and create individualized action plans which acknowledge and foster responsibility for self-care.
It is a two-way interaction between the client and the Registered Dietitian. Clients learn how to interpret the results of their nutritional assessment and incorporate positive habits that lead to a healthier lifestyle.
The step-by-step guidance clients receive from working with a Dietitian is a valuable tool in helping them reach their health goals and maintain results long-term.

After your Initial Consultation, appointment frequency will be determined based on your individual goals and needs. Generally follow-ups are done every 1-4 weeks, but this amount will vary from case to case.

All clients are required to keep a credit card on file.
If you cancel a session within 48 hours of the session start time, or if you no-show a session, your card on file will be billed for the full rate of the session. There is no fee for canceling more than 48 hours in advance, but clients who repeatedly cancel may lose their standing appointment time.
In most cases, you don't need a referral for nutrition counseling. However, in order to provide you with a superbill for potential out-of-network reimbursement, we might need some information from your primary care provider (or therapist if you've been diagnosed with an eating disorder). This will be discussed with you prior to your initial consultation if it's necessary.
